When To Visit

This can be the toughest decision, but whenever you can visit is certainly the best time to visit. Below is our tentative timeline for where we fish and what we fish for, depending on run timing. Early Spring and late Summer are prime time for rainbow trout, but rainbows can be caught all season long. Mid May through Mid June - Deshka River targeting King Salmon Mid July through Mid August - Susitna River drainages, targeting Silver Salmon. Mid August through October - We will still target silvers, but we are starting to concentrate on rainbows.

King Salmon (Chinook) - Starting in mid May, King salmon begin entering the Susitna River drainage. Peak times vary year to year due to water conditions, but the second week of June has typically seen a large surge of Kings entering the rivers.

Silver Salmon (Coho) - We begin guiding for silvers in late July and continue through most of September on the Susitna River drainages.

Rainbow Trout - The best time for rainbow trout is April through October, with the late Fall being some of THE BEST rainbow fishing around.
